The studio workshop is approximately 200 sq. feet and has been specifically built for model engineering. The shop facilities comprise of lathes, mills, grinding equipment, polishing equipment, surface treatment (chemical blackening, electro-plating and anodising), laser cutting, engraving, bench fitting, tig welding, pressing and a micro foundry.

You will see in the video that access is a real issue and severely restricts the weight of any machine, so for that reason, small commercial machines are not a viable option.
The new workshop is a vast improvement on the original shed, where I started out from. The new workshop is much larger, its also fully insulated, double glazed, air-conditioned and heated which makes it comfortable to work in all year round.
Although restricted to 240V, the cable has been sized to provide a 32A supply. The electrical distribution allows individual machine supplies and numerous sockets around the perimiter together with 6 network ports and compressed air points.
